Replaced faulty electrical switch and outlet today. First, I shut off power at the circuit breaker for safety. Removed old switch and outlet, inspecting wiring for any signs of damage or wear. Installed new Leviton Decora 15A switch and tamper-resistant outlet. Used wire strippers to prepare conductors and secured connections with wire nuts. Tested for proper grounding and polarity using a Klein Tools multimeter. Mounted devices in electrical box and attached cover plate. Restored power and verified functionality of both switch and outlet. Job completed in 45 minutes, ensuring improved electrical safety and performance.
